The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”) is a federal statute that prohibits companies like telemarketers, creditors, and debt collectors from unsolicited auto-dialed “robo” calls, and/or calls using an artificial or pre-recorded voice. Each and every time a company calls you, without permission, through one of these methods, is a potential violation of the TCPA.
